Sandra Kay Stewart, CEO/President
As President and Chief Executive Officer, Kay Stewart is the majority owner of PTI and is responsible for the strategic direction and operation of the company. Her vision was instrumental in restructuring PTI from a traditional telecommunications distributor into a leading communications integrator. Under her direction, PTI became one of several companies to hold a national contract with T-Mobile to perform cell site modification for the FCC E-911 requirement as well as the only non-public company invited to bid on the recertification of 30,000+ cell sites.
Prior to purchasing and restructuring PTI with Director Emeritus James Cantrell, Stewart ran several successful companies. As President of Middle East Partners Limited, Inc./Latin American Partners, Inc., Stewart assisted Gen. Frank Kelly (US Army, Ret.) in creating a housing development plan for third-world countries. She was also a Presidential Appointee to the Federal Agency General Services Administration Small Business Advisory Council.
Stewart is Past President of Leadership Charlotte and the Charlotte Women Business Owners Association and was a finalist for Charlotte Businesswoman of the Year. She is past Vice President of the John’s Creek Community Association and is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners and many other business and industry organizations. Stewart holds Master’s Degrees in both Business Administration and Counseling and Guidance from the University of Kansas.
James Cantrell, Director Emeritus
James Cantrell, along with Kay Stewart, acquired PTI in 2001 and transformed it from a traditional telecommunications distributor into a leading, nationally certified woman-owned communications integrator. Mr. Cantrell led PTI in diverse directions to ensure the longevity of the company and to capture other markets.
Mr. Cantrell’s success at PTI is the result of 30+ years’ experience as a seasoned entrepreneur. Prior to PTI, he and his PTI partner Kay Stewart successfully started and ran several businesses, including: Cornell Clinic, Inc., Middle East Partners Ltd., Equal Access Group, Inc., Public Pay Phone Inc., and Thermal Insulation Co.
Cantrell has served as an Energy Conservation Consultant for the Department of Energy, the Consumer Products Safety Council, the Federal Trade Commission, and numerous other federal and state committees, and he was appointed by the 93rd Congress to the President’s Energy Council. He was one of four people invited by the 93rd Congress to serve on the National Institute of Building Science’s Advisory Council. Cantrell is also a widely published author and his work has appeared in Time and Newsweek.
Cantrell has been a guest speaker at the Duke University Fuqua School of Business and at other universities and business groups. Cantrell has a degree in Business Administration and is a member of numerous organizations including ASIS and Rotary International. He serves on the board of several companies.
Allen Gilstrap, Director
Allen Gilstrap is a Director with PTI providing executive management support and strategic counsel. In addition to his role with PTI, Gilstrap serves as CEO of OpenRevolution LLC, a Washington, DC-based, consultancy that advises mobile network operators, financial institutions and technology service organizations in the mobile financial services area.
Gilstrap has 22 years of global experience in the creation of technology-enabled new businesses within both Fortune 500 and venture capital funded environments. Gilstrap has created and led businesses in the financial services, e-commerce, telecom and loyalty/CRM space. Gilstrap served as General Manager of American Express’ Smart Solutions business based in London (UK) which delivered online commercial payment, mobile commerce and smart card issuance solutions to bank card issuing and merchant acquiring partnerships in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and South America.
Gilstrap received his MBA degree from Duke University and a B.S. degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas. Gilstrap has served on the Duke University Business School (Fuqua) Alumni Council, as a Director of Interactive Transaction Services, Ltd. (UK), Chairman of the Smart Card Alliance, and on the Advisory Board of Proton World (Belgium).
Charles Zetterstrom, Director of Wireless Engineering
Charles Zetterstrom serves as PTI’s Director of Wireless. Zetterstrom has over 40 years in the telecommunications industry and has extensive experience in the network engineering planning, construction, and operations areas. His experience with BellSouth International includes serving as Executive Director of Engineering and Operations for the cellular partnership “MOVICOM” in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Zetterstrom has been involved in all Latin America cellular radio telephone system implementations; which included the partnerships in Guadalajara, Mexico; Caracas, Venezuela; Montevideo, Uruguay and Santiago, Chile. In this capacity, he has directed or assisted in the implementation of nearly all BellSouth International wireless systems in Latin America.
As Executive Director of Network Implementation for Dynegy Connect LP, Zetterstrom was responsible for the broadband build-out of 45 major market cities. As VP of Engineering and Operations for Asian American Telecommunications Corporation (a Metromedia Company), Zetterstrom was responsible for the build-out of China Unicom’s PSTN in the Sichuan Province and the GSM cellular build-out in the city of Ningbo, China. Zetterstrom served as Executive Director and Technical Director of BellSouth’s new long distance business unit in Chile, known as BellSouth Communicaciones and was responsible for the network planning, design and implementation of the long distance network in Santiago, Chile.
Earlier in Zetterstrom’s career he held management positions with Sprint, United Telecommunication Inc. and Pacific Telephone Company.
Laura Young, Finance Manager
Laura Young serves as Finance Manager and brings over 20 years accounting experience to PTI. Young is responsible for the financial health of PTI by maintaining the accounts receivable and accounts payable as well as maintaining the general ledger. Additionally, Young provides HR experience to Peachtree to manage employee files and payroll.
Prior to joining Peachtree, Young served as a controller for several entrepreneurial companies including AirNet Group, Inc.; Trinity Cable, LLC; st3.com; and R. M. Myers Company, Inc. As controller for AirNet Group, Inc., Young set up the accounting processes and procedures as well as standardized services for billing and file maintenance in all aspects of accounting. During her tenure at R. M. Myers and company, Young automated the accounting system and set up accounting procedures that remain in place today.
Young earned a BS in Accounting from Berry College and an MBA from Webster University.
Ted Hatfield, Project Manager
Ted Hatfield serves as a Project Manager for PTI. Hatfield is a 35-year-veteran technologist and infrastructure design/deployment specialist responsible for hundreds of successful deployment, design, consulting and training projects accomplished on four continents, with ministry level exposure and eight figure responsibility. He has designed and built systems employing coaxial, optical, copper, and RF transmission architectures in frequency bands spanning 30 MHz to 40 GHz.
An experienced technical trainer and seminar presenter, Ted has been chosen to address the Wireless Communications Association, NetWorld/Interop and ISPCON, and has led seminars at functions including Andina-Link (Colombia), Pay-TV (Brasil) and IBC (London and Miami). Ted also co-authored “The MMDS (Wireless Cable) Installation Manual”, published in 1995.
Teresa Trettel, Project Coordinator
Teresa Trettel is the lead Project Coordinator for PTI, supporting Team Peachtree subcontractors and clients with close out package, purchase order and change order request related matters.
Trettel has extensive experience in the construction industry and served as Finance Manager for PTI prior to her current role. Prior to PTI, she served as Operations Manager for several architectural engineering firms including McFarland-Dyer and Associates, Sizemore Floyd Architects. Trettel served a Senior Project Coordinator for the Architectural Programming project in the 1996 Olympics for the City of Atlanta.
Justin Cleveland, National Director of Field Operations and Construction Services
Joining the PTI team in 2015 as our Director of Field Operations is Justin Cleveland. A proven Telecommunications Industry professional, Justin has been in this field of work for over a decade now. Starting out as a field technician and tower climber he quickly climbed the ladder to success with a strong aptitude for the technical aspects, hard work ethics that are unsurpassed and an attention to detail that makes Justin a valuable asset to our organization. Always keeping up with the latest technologies and training, Justin will be able to place, train and manage the assets needed for any project that arises. Honesty, integrity and a strong faith are just a few of the characteristics that Justin will bring to the table. Robert D. Bennett, III
A dynamic, entrepreneurial sales professional with a record of 25+ years of demonstrating achievement and experience in the areas of business development, strategic planning and relationships, account, personnel and channel sales management, consultative and solutions sales of telecommunications products and professional services, P&L responsibility for managing multi-million dollars projects and sales opportunities. Possess a strong set of key business and interpersonal skills which include the development of strategic and meaningful relationships.
His expertise results from knowledge gained by working for the Federal Government, Fortune Rate and Small Corporations including his time spent as a volunteer at church and with various non-profit organizations. Robert’s credentials include, among others, prior assignments with the United States Air Force, Xerox Corporation, USA Today Newspapers, General Motors-Electronic Data Systems (EDS), General Electric Computer Service, General Electric Capital Information Services, Solarcom Holdings, Element K-Ziff Davis, Cypress Communications, BroadRiver Communications Corporation and in his present position as Peachtree Telecom’s Director of Business Development and Sales Strategist.
Robert is responsible for helping position Peachtree Telecom as a premier provider of telecommunication installation, maintenance, decommissioning and asset management services globally for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, MasTec, General Dynamics, SBA Communications, Crown Castle and American Tower.
