Sandra Kay Stewart, President and Chief Executive Officer
After purchasing the company in 2000, Kay Stewart, as majority owner, President and Chief Executive Officer strategically transformed Peachtree Telecommunications from a traditional telecommunications distributor, for which it was previously known into a leading, nationally certified woman owned communications integrator, providing infrastructure products and services for the deployment of digital video, audio, data, and security applications over fiber optic and wireless networks. Differentiating it from standard, pass through, Value Added Resellers (VAR’s), Kay spared no expense in hiring top engineering talent to provide product testing and product delineation resulting in creative and cost effective solutions for its clients in the Military, Federal, State and Local Governments, and Departments of Transportation. PTI’s association with cutting edge research and development firms and product knowledge enables PTI to offer to its customers’ with the very latest telecommunications and security solutions.
Charting new strategies for a century old family brokerage house imparted Kay with the deregulation knowledge and experience she would later bring to telecommunications. Her strategy to remain flexible to accommodate change in the volatile and cyclical communications environment enables her to deliver cost effective communications and security solutions. Her experience in corporate strategy as an Investment Banker was the platform for a proven track record of Business ownership and management in the communications industry. She has an MBA from the University of Kansas, where she also earned a Masters in Counseling and Guidance and her undergraduate B.S. degree in Marketing and Art. Kay is a native Kansan; but as a resident of Georgia, she holds a host of community awards, memberships and is a strong advocate for community involvement. Kay holds many certifications including Women’s Business Enterprise Certification, National Women Business Owners Corporation, and multi-state DOT DBE (Department of Transportation, Disadvantage Business Enterprise) Rapid Transit Authorities, Airports, Ports and certifications on many levels within federal, state and local municipalities.
Jim Cantrell, Executive Vice President and Director New Business Development
Jim’s strategic vision and ability to penetrate new markets has catapulted PTI into securing contracts that are the rival of larger, more established integrators. As a minority stockholder within a Woman Owned Enterprise, Jim provides bold leadership as he directs our many team enterprises. Peachtree has been lead by Jim in diverse directions securing new markets and technologies. He has performed a “best-in-class” evaluation technologies in Biometric, CCTV, Access Control, filed 6 US Patents on an intrusion system that will detect taps on Fiber Optic Cable. His leadership resulted in PTI’s selection by T-Mobile to be one of five companies selected to enhance cell-sites for E-911. Having achieved success in owning, operating and selling a construction and building company, Jim brought his entrepreneurial expertise to the telecommunications industry. Jim assesses key and target markets, gathers intelligence on customers and competitors, and maintains strategic relationships with third party companies. Jim has been a contributing editor for three national magazines, a guest speaker on "Creative Innovation" at the Duke University Fuqua School of Business, the North Carolina Science and Technology Research Center at the "Profit through Innovation" workshops and a frequent speaker to MBA classes at numerous universities and business groups. He has been published in Time and Newsweek and holds two, royalty producing patents.
David Hauck, Wired Project Manager
Mr. Hauck’s, formerly with Adesta Communications, Inc., was responsible for the management of a Long Haul Fiber Optic project which extended from the Kansas/Colorado state line to Salt Lake City. He negotiated UDOT Agreement and site locations for Utah Right-Of-Way with respective city councils; Negotiated US Forestry/BLM Environmental agreement and maintained partner and customer relationships. As President, CEO and Founder of Hawk Communications, formerly East Coast Telecom. Inc., Mr. Hauck directed major turnkey engineering and construction projects for Federal Government and Department of Defense customer’s to include: US Army: Ft. Monmouth, NJ, Ft. Drum, NY, Watervelet Arsenal, NY, Tobyhanna Army Depot, PA, New Cumberland Army Depot, PA, Letter Kenny Army Depot, PA, Savanna Army Depot, IL, Ft. Belvoir, VA, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, Ft. Riley, KS, Ft. Sheridan, IL. The Presidio, CA US Navy: Navel Weapons Center, NJ. US Air Force: Tinker AFB, OK, Moody AFB, GA, Homestead AFB, FL, McDill AFB, FL. Major Projects in the Private Sector: University of South Florida, University of South Carolina, Citi Bank (Nationwide), Amtrak (Nationwide), Century Insurance (Nationwide), Hercules Missile Complex, DE, Texaco World Headquarters, IBM Headquarters. A native of Kansas, Mr. Hauck was educated at Kansas State University; has attended numerous management and technical seminars and is one of the few senior managers’ who has had the privilege of working in the telecommunications industry from the ground up.
Charles E. Zetterstrom, Director Wireless Division
Mr. Zetterstrom has over 40 years in the telecommunications industry and has extensive experience in the network engineering planning, construction, and operations areas. His experience with BellSouth International includes serving as Executive Director of Engineering and Operations for the cellular partnership "MOVICOM" in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Mr. Zetterstrom has been involved in all Latin America cellular radio telephone system implementations; which included the partnerships in Guadalajara, Mexico; Caracas, Venezuela; Montevideo, Uruguay and Santiago, Chile. In this capacity, he has directed or assisted in the implementation of nearly all BellSouth International wireless systems in Latin America.
As Executive Director of Network Implementation for Dynegy Connect LP (formally Extant, Inc.), Mr. Zetterstrom was responsible for the broadband build-out of 45 major market cities. As Vice President of Engineering and Operations for Asian American Telecommunications Corporation (a Metromedia Company), Mr. Zetterstrom was responsible for the build-out of China Unicom’s PSTN in the Sichuan Province and the GSM cellular build-out in the city of Ningbo, China. The success of these projects resulted in the China Unicom purchase of this operational system from AAT in 1999. As Executive Director and Technical Director of BellSouth’s new long distance business unit in Chile, known as BellSouth Communicaciones. This was BellSouth’s first Latin American long distance company. Responsible for the network planning, design and implementation of the long distance network in Santiago, Chile. The design and installation of a Standard "A" earth station for satellite transmission to and from the world (no international fiber optic cables to Chile) and the design and installation of a International Switching Center (ISC). The selected earth station vendor was Scientific Atlanta and the digital ISC was selected from AT&T (now Lucent Technologies) and was equipped with the most modern Operator Services Platform.
His work with SPRINT (United Telecommunication Inc. /CENTEL Cellular Co.) includes assignments in implementing North American AMPS cellular systems in seven different USA markets. Prior to working on cellular systems, Mr. Zetterstrom worked in network operations for both United Telecommunication Inc. and was previously with Pacific Telephone Company (former AT&T) for over ten years in Los Angeles, California. In addition, he has worked international assignments in Jamaica, Nigeria and Saudi Arabia on landline public telephone networks as project manager of switching and MW radio systems.
Eduardo Alaluf, Quality Assurance
Mr. Alaluf is a bilingual electronics and communications engineer with over 20 years of experience in the business and technical fields. Mr. Alaluf has a proven track record in engineering design, process engineering, and quality assurance with an ISO 9000. His background includes a solid foundation in fiber optic cables design, cable engineering, design standards, manufacturing and quality assurance.
As Quality Assurance Chief Engineer for Condutel, S.A. de C.V., Eduardo conceptualized, created and implemented detailed manufacturing process methods, procedures, data sheets and an auto-inspection system for a fiber optic cable plant. He achieved major cost reductions through the study and development of new and alternative raw materials, improvement of manufacturing processes and increasing the overall plant capacity. As Quality Superintendent, Mr. Alaluf managed three Quality Assurance Departments at the Telephone, Fiber Optic Cable and Optoelectronic Assemblies Plants.
With Focus, Inc., Mr. Alaluf, served as Vice President of Sales for the Americas where he successfully restructured, managed and maintained three sales forces. After establishing a solid presence and reputation of FOCAS across Latin America, Mr. Alaluf developed a method for optimizing response to bids and bid requests and secured the FOCUS’ first major international orders. Mr. Alaluf was retained by Alcoa Fujikura Limited, once they acquired the assets of Focus, Inc.
